It is the policy of the ambulance service not to transport decedents (someone who has died). However, we will assist the funeral home or medical examiner in lifting moving of a decedent.

You may contact us for a copy of a report. If you are not the patient in the report, we must have a signed authorization for release (available from us or on the documents page).


The Divide County Ambulance District bills for assessment, treatment, or transport.

If an ambulance arrives and does none of the above, you are not billed.

While the ambulance service is a political subdivision funded by the taxpayer, the amount of funding received does not support a full time, paid ambulance service.

We understand the different financial positions many of our community members are in, and we don’t want to bankrupt you.

We ask that you contact us as soon as possible after your service – we can work together.
