As a political subdivision of the State of North Dakota and as an agency supported by public funds, the Divide County Ambulance District is subject to the North Dakota Open Records laws.

Every person has a right to inspect any open public record, regardless of reason or residence – the right to access public records belongs to all persons equally. Advance notice is not required, nor is a specific method of request.

 

Information Exempt from Open Records:

  • Reports of child abuse or neglect
  • Employee medical records
  • Computer programs and passwords

Medical record requests contain Protected Health Information and its use and disclosure is government by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act. Release of medical records requires a written authorization from the patient or a valid warrant.

We are committed to maintaining transparency. However, our administration does not have defined regular business hours. We will respond to your request within a reasonable amount of time.
